Ashley Alva
President

Hey everyone! I am in my third year of my PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. My research focuses on augmenting imaging in Ultrasound. I completed my undergrad in EE from BITS, Pilani (2014) and I have a masters in Biomedical engineering from Gatech (2015). During my free time, you will find me running, hiking, swimming, practicing Kathak (an Indian dance form) or just re-reading the Harry Potter series (Anyone else liking the illustrated version?).

Aline Eid
Vice President of Professional Developement

Hey! I am a third year PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering. My work focuses on the simulation, design and fabrication of printed RF electronics, more specifically RF energy harvesting systems and fully inkjet-printed active devices. I received my B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Notre Dame University, Louaize, Lebanon in 2015 and my masters in Electromagnetics, Antennas and RF Systems from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, in 2017. I love travelling, swimming and hiking. Nature and beach are my happy places. Strangely enough, I don’t like coffee!

Foroozan Karimzadeh
Vice President of Communication and Marketing

Hey everyone! I am a third year PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. My research focuses on developing novel machine learning algorithms and  designing low power devices to enable artificial intelligence on our daily lives. I received my M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from Shiraz University, Iran in 2016. I am an art lover engineer and painter. I also love traveling and mountain climbing.

Mohit Agarwal
Vice President of Social Events

I am a 6th year PhD candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering. My research interests include Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs), Human-In-The-Loop Reinforcement Learning, and applications in machine learning and deep learning. I completed my undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2014. After finishing my PhD, I joined Georgia Tech to pursue my graduate studies. Beyond academic studies I am interested in running (currently training for second half marathon), swimming, hiking, camping and rock climbing!

Charles Lynch
Vice President of Internal Outreach
Hey everyone! I am a first year PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering. My work focuses on the development of RF electronics primarily for wireless communication systems for wearable technology and other IoT applications. I received my B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2019. I love exploring new places, hiking, reading, and playing and/or watching soccer. On the weekend you can find me at a local coffee shop or brewery cheering on Manchester City!

Prasanna Venkatesan Ravindran
Assistant VP of Communication and Marketing

Hey folks! I am in my first year of PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I work on Ferroelectrics, Negative capacitance and Quantum computing. I graduated from IIT Palakkad, India in 2019 with a Bachelor degree in Electrical engineering. I calligraph and cook during my free time. Occasionally, start writing articles and try to read books. I love drinking coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I hate the summers and winters in Atlanta!

Hamed Seyedroudbari
Assistant VP of Professional Developement

Hey guys, I’m first year PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering. While I don’t officially have a research advisor yet, my research interests include computer architecture and acceleration of computationally intensive and latency critical applications. I grew up in Los Angeles, CA and completed my undergrad in Computer Engineering from California State University, Northridge in 2019. I play many sports… you name it, I play it 🙂 soccer, basketball, tennis, pingpong, badminton. I also love going to live music events, concerts and music festivals. Fun facts: I speak three languages, English, Spanish, and Farsi and I’m a twin!!

Dr. Benjamin Klein
Faculty Advisor

Benjamin Klein received his B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1994 and 1995, respectively, and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2000. From 2000-2003, Dr. Klein served as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, Colorado, carrying out theoretical analysis and computer simulations of next-generation semiconductor photonic devices. Dr. Klein first joined Georgia Tech as an ECE faculty member based at the Georgia Tech-Savannah campus in 2003, and in 2012, he transferred to the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta. Effective January 2018, Dr. Klein was appointed as the School’s associate chair for Graduate Affairs.
